Expansive additive with high early expansion and pronounced shrinkage compensation
Newchem AS A29 is a new development 2026: a powder-form expansive additive for cement-bound mortar and concrete systems. Through early ettringite formation, the product generates a high expansion level within the first 36 to 48 hours, counteracting later shrinkage and reducing crack formation. Production takes place in Europe; the raw material base is almost entirely European.
- Dosage
- 3–8 % by weight of cement (uniform reference for concrete and mortar). Worked example for dry mortars: 0.75–2.0 % of the dry mix at approx. 25 % cement content. Exact dosage to be determined by laboratory pre-trials; avoid overdosing.
