Reactive additive for strength development and shrinkage compensation
Newchem AS A28 is a powder-form reactive additive for cement-bound systems. Over a period of approximately 9 to 48 hours, the product supports the formation of early ettringite and generates a controlled, moderate expansion. This can partly compensate early shrinkage deformations and thereby reduce the risk of shrinkage-induced cracking. Particularly suited to pure OPC systems as well as OPC-rich formulations with low calcium aluminate content. The actual effect depends on the mix design, dosage, water-to-binder ratio, curing regime and the binder components used.
- Dosage
- 3–10 % by weight of cement. Exact dosage depends on cement type and mix design, must be validated by laboratory pre-trials; avoid overdosing.
